The 38th IASSIST annual conference will be in Washington, D.C., USA, June 4 - June 8, 2012, hosted by the National Opinion Research Centre (NORC). The theme is Data Science for a Connected World: Unlocking and Harnessing the Power of Information. View the Call for Papers.

The 37th annual conference was hosted by Simon Fraser University and University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, May 31 – June 3, 2011 on the theme of Data Science Professionals: a Global Community of Sharing. Presentations are now available as well as videos of two of the plenary speakers from the conference website.

IASSIST is an international organization of professionals working in and with information technology and data services to support research and teaching in the social sciences.

Its 300 members are from a variety of workplaces, including data archives, statistical agencies, research centers, libraries, academic departments, government departments, and non-profit organizations.
